Garden to The Garden (5-year project)

Updated: Jul 7

From our garden to THE GARDEN.

We’d like to share the story of our business - THE GARDEN - today.

We are the second generation of this Korean-inspired eatery. In fact, for those of you who are unaware of our history, from 1999 until we, myself and my wife came in 2019, THE GARDEN was a sushi shop; however, we had a purpose of taking over this business delivering nutrient dense food with Korean principles. So we have been undergoing a lengthy but rewarding transition and now here we are.

It was a bit of a long introduction but we wanted to say that we kept our name, THE GARDEN, because eventually we wanted to incorporate the freshest and most nutrient-dense produce in our dishes and the name was perfect for that reason. Another reason was that it was analogous to how our business should be run.  The requirements are patience, hard labor, trials & tribulations, and passion.  For us, most importantly, it has taught us patience.

During the past five years, we have been investing in our garden (which the first generation owners - our parents/parents-in-law - tend to and manage) to grow various Korean and other key pesticide-free vegetables for our dishes and finally we our realising the fruits of our labor. We are using our produce where possible and while there will be some gaps in our home-grown production, we are doing our best to offer you the best.

We highly appreciate your support always and we hope our food makes you and your gut happy. Nga Mihi.
